Information for Dog Owners

Please note that these rules are for all guests with dogs.  Some guests seem to think that they do not apply to them.  THEY DO.  They are there for a reason and take account of others staying on site.  Guests not following these rules may be asked to leave.

South Coombe is not a working farm but we often have ewes with their lambs and horses and foals in our fields.  We also have free-range hens and ducks wandering about.  Please consider these when out with your dog.  Other guests may have children playing on the site.

• All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times whilst within the property boundaries.  Be especially careful when walking through the fields with the livestock.  Please close all gates after you.
  
  
• Pets are not allowed on the furniture, upstairs or in bedrooms.  A stair gate is provided.
  
  
• Bring covers for protecting the cottage furniture if you think your dog may be tempted to climb on to it at night when unattended.  A sleeping cage for your dog to sleep in at night would be a more suitable solution.
  
  
• Do not leave your pet unattended in the cottage under any circumstances, as this can be distressing and unsafe for your pet.
  
  
• All dog waste must be collected immediately, double bagged and deposited in the outside litterbins.  Remember to bring plastic bags for this purpose with you.
  
  
• Pets are not allowed in the swimming pool building (including the games room).
  
  
• Remember to bring your pet’s bed and a towel for wiping muddy paws.
